Paul Turner invented Rock Shox. Now hes turned his extensive suspension knowledge to full suspension frames and suspension forks. The most popular frame for our customers is the ML-7 which utilizes the Mono Link. The system uses a swinging link and a structural shock. The basic idea of the design is to eliminate the negative effects that pedaling and braking have on suspension. This thing climbs great.
The Durance is best married to the DUC fork which is a 6 (150mm) cross country fork that weighs (yes to be believed) an amazing 3.4 lbs. The double crown design comes with a unique front hub and stem, and is air sprung. Cost is about $900 plus a wheel build. The coolest features of this fork besides the lack of weight, is that the unique stem that comes with the fork keeps your hands low, as if you were on a 100mm fork but this baby is 6!
Maverick was founded in Boulder, Colorado in 1999 as an independent, fresh-thinking company with the experience and vision to create and develop innovative , quality products without the meaningless hype. All three models of bikes from maverick climb well and handle with razor sharpness.
The local boys are really back on track with meaningful updated bike models and front suspension that illuminates a great suspension design.
Maverick utilizes 3 main designs for their frames.
1). Monolink The patented monolink is the uniqe element that enables the suspension to perform with efficiency and simplicity, with the focus of independent suspension with minimal pedal kickback.
2). Parallel Path Technology - The rear wheel moves up and back, throughout its entire travel, along a path that is virtually parallel with the front wheel. Both wheels move to get up and out of the way of obstacles giving you more control and minimizing any loss of forward momentum.
3). Integrated rear shock The rear shock body is and integral part of the rear triangle producing a lower center of gravity, a stiffer rear end, fewer pivots, less weight and use of a low-leverage rear shock.
